The project is located in an industrial part of Milan. Over the years, the city has expanded and has engulfed the market. However, the market has remained a mostly inaccessible "dead-zone" to the public, which is located in a central node of connections between main-city Milan and its outskirts. 

The suggested market takes after the classical Roman and Greek compositions while incorporating more innovative styles - such as panoramic rooftop restaurants, with views of the whole city.

a special emphasis was put into planning the new connections between the eastern and western sides of the market, between the market and its surroundings and between the different activities which are to take place in the area.
